Improving Consumer Confidence Drives Retail Sales Growth in October 2025
The Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) rose by 6.3 points to 121.2 in October 2025, up from 115.0 in September 2025. This increase was driven by a 6.1-point rise in the Consumer Expectation Index (CEI), which reached 133.4 in October 2025. In addition, the Current Economic Condition Index (CEC) climbed 6.4 points to 109.1. All CEC sub-indices recorded gains, with the largest increase seen in the Job Availability Index, which jumped 10.6 points to 102.6 in October 2025 — entering the optimistic zone after five consecutive months in the pessimistic phase since May 2025. This indicates that consumers are becoming more confident about current job availability. Meanwhile, the Current Income Index rose by 4.3 points to 117.1 in October 2025, remaining in the optimistic zone (above 100 points), suggesting that consumers feel confident about their current income levels.
